Services
Grassroots Intelligence provides AI consulting, automation, and implementation services as described on this site. Every engagement is governed by a written service agreement or proposal that defines the scope, timeline, price, and deliverables. If anything on this site conflicts with a signed agreement, the signed agreement wins.
Quotes and payment
- Project quotes are fixed-price, agreed before work begins.
- Projects require a 50% deposit, with the remainder due on delivery, unless the agreement says otherwise.
- Retainers are billed monthly and can be cancelled with 30 days' notice.
- Third-party software and API costs are passed through at cost and itemized.
What we don't promise
We do not guarantee specific revenue, savings, or business outcomes. Estimates in proposals are clearly labeled as estimates. We do our best work, we tie projects to measurable results, and we're honest about what's achievable — but business results depend on factors outside our control.
Client responsibilities
To deliver well, we need timely access to the people, information, and systems described in the agreement, plus prompt feedback on previews and deliverables. Delays on the client's side can move timelines.
Intellectual property
Custom workflows, assistants, and documentation we build for you are yours once paid in full (subject to third-party license terms for underlying tools and models). Our general methods, templates, and know-how remain ours.
Confidentiality
We treat your business information as confidential and never share one client's information with another. NDAs are available on request.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
AI Use Statement
We use AI tools in our own work and in what we build for clients. Here's our commitment:
- Your data: we access only what's needed, protect credentials, and never use your data to train public AI models without your explicit consent.
- Human oversight: customer-facing and high-stakes outputs (legal, medical, financial, HR) get human review. Important decisions keep a human approver.
- Transparency: chatbots and assistants we build disclose they are AI where required or appropriate.
- Accuracy: AI can make mistakes. We build checks, cite sources where possible, and create escalation paths.
- Fairness: we won't build systems that make unfair automated decisions about people, such as fully automated hiring rejection.
- No professional advice: our tools assist with legal, medical, tax, and financial work — they don't replace licensed professionals, and neither do we.
- Compliance: we design with Canadian (PIPEDA, CASL), US (CAN-SPAM, state privacy laws), and EU/UK (GDPR) rules in mind, and we recommend you get your own legal review for regulated uses.
